Another great family weekend, gone far too soon!
On Friday, Matt and I had our first date since December. I would consider this our first REAL date, as it included going for dinner (a quick one at the Food Court in WEM – how romantic hey?) and then off to the Comic Strip. The comedian we paid to see was lousy, but as always, the company of my love was fantastic, and it was nice to have some time to spend together as a couple – mind you, we had some time to spare afterwards with which we could have used to go have a drink, or just taken a walk together as a twosome, but we opted instead to go pick up our little girl early and go home to cuddle. We missed her terribly, even though we were only apart for 3 hours!
On Saturday, we spent the majority of our morning and early afternoon running errands – to Babies R Us to pick up some stuff for McKenna’s room (CONSTANTLY adding to it!), and to Home Depot, so Matt could pick up something or other for the house (I never pay attention these things).
Afterwards, we headed over to a friend’s house to celebrate their daughter’s 7th birthday! It was a fun afternoon, but the highlight for me was when Matt and his friend were delegated to HOLD the pinata while the children hit it. Luckily, there were no injuries :).
Sunday was a quiet day at home with our pets, which was nice and relaxing for all of us, and very much needed, as Matt returned to work today, and McKenna and I have something planned out of the house for every single day this week – with the exception of today!
One final thing, before I am off to spend a quiet day in with my baby girl. I wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU – I have been getting a lot of support, from both friends and strangers alike, for this blog. I appreciate it so much :). I have always loved to write, and this blog challenges me to do so, everyday. And most importantly – it is becoming a beautiful collection of memories of our family, and of McKenna’s growth. The ultimate goal of this little family blog is to eventually have a beautiful book to be printed and bound, for McKenna, her father & I to cherish forever.
It takes a lot to put your writing out there for the world to see and critique, and everyone has been nothing short of amazing. Thank you so much for all of your support, and please, keep reading, and we will happily keep on sharing!
Happy Monday everybody!
